Low Pressure Water Mist

Product Description

A water mist system is a type of fire suppression system that uses fine water droplets to control, suppress, or extinguish fires. It operates by discharging water through nozzles at high pressure, breaking the water into tiny droplets that quickly evaporate and absorb heat, cooling the surrounding area and suffocating the fire.

Water mist systems generate droplets that are much smaller than those produced by traditional sprinkler systems. These droplets have a larger surface area, allowing them to absorb heat more efficiently and cool the fire rapidly.

Advantages of Water Mist System:

  • Highly effective extinguishing system that uses water and air to generate a fine water droplet
  • Uses significantly less water than standard sprinkler systems
  • Provides equivalent/better extinguishing characteristics than gas
  • Without hazard to personnel
  • The Water Mist system follows the NFPA 750 Standard.
  • Water mist systems are effective in suppressing various types of fires, including Class A (combustible solids), Class B (flammable liquids), and Class C (electrical) fires.

Low Water Discharge

Uses less water per discharge than any conventional sprinkler. Post-discharge cleaning time is therefore negligible and consequential damages and losses are minimized. Operations can resume in the shortest time possible.

Highly Effective Extinguishment

Extinguishes the fire in seconds and, unlike gaseous systems, is highly effective even though limited ventilation is present.

Environmentally Friendly & Safe For Personnel

Simply uses water and air, which cause no potential risk for the environment or for personnel. No personnel evacuation before a system discharge is needed.

Low Pressure

This system operates at a low pressure of 75-85 psi which allows the use of standard piping and the connection to the plant water and air supply, when available.

  • Almost unlimited protection time
  • No need for water tanks or bottles
  • Maintenance cost greatly reduced

Twin Fluid

Twin fluid technology uses large water pathway nozzles. Mist is generated by air impingement as opposed to small orifices, minimizing the risk of nozzle clogging.

Water Mist Technology

The NFPA 750 standard defines water mist as: water spray for which 99% of the total volume of water is in droplets with a diameter less than 1000 microns (Dv0.99) at the minimum design operating pressure of the water mist nozzle.

Maintenance:

Regular maintenance and testing are essential to ensure the proper functioning of water mist systems. This includes inspecting nozzles, pumps, and control panels, as well as conducting periodic flow tests.
